63rd Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan Foundation Day 2025

Every year on 15 December, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Foundation Day is observed to commemorate the establishment of one of India’s most respected educational organizations. Founded in 1963, KVS was created with the noble objective of providing uniform, quality education to the children of transferable Central Government employees, especially defence personnel.

Kendriya Vidyalayas have played a vital role in promoting national integration by bringing together students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and regional backgrounds under a common curriculum. Affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and academically supported by NCERT, KVs ensure continuity of education for students whose families frequently relocate across the country.

KVS Foundation Day is an occasion to reflect on the organization’s enduring commitment to academic excellence, discipline, and value-based education. Schools celebrate the day through special assemblies, talks, exhibitions, quizzes, cultural programmes, and library activities that highlight the history, vision, and achievements of Kendriya Vidyalayas.

As KVS continues its journey, it remains dedicated to nurturing knowledgeable, responsible, and socially aware citizens, staying true to its motto “Tat Tvam Pooshann Apavrunu”, which emphasizes the pursuit of truth and enlightenment.

Celebration on Armed Forces Flag Day

Every year on 7th December, India observes Armed Forces Flag Day, a moment dedicated to remembering the courage, commitment, and sacrifice of our soldiers. Since 1949, this day has been an occasion for citizens to express gratitude to the Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel who safeguard our nation—often far from their families and comforts.

The Flag Day tradition includes distributing small flags and stickers as a symbol of support. More importantly, it serves as a reminder of the responsibility we share towards the welfare of our veterans, disabled soldiers, and the families of martyrs. Funds collected on this day are used for their rehabilitation, education, and well-being.

In a world where peace is often taken for granted, Armed Forces Flag Day urges us to pause and reflect on the unseen sacrifices behind our freedom. Through awareness, contributions, and heartfelt respect, each of us can play a part in honouring those who stand guard at the nation’s borders.
